ENCODER
The
encoder used for the Posi-Stop system is a
proprietary design with the output signal integrated into the electronics
in the Control/Display console.
This integrated approach eliminates the possibility of signals from the encoder not being received by the Control/Display console which could result in error calculating block position. This in turn could cause damage due to the blocks overrunning the upper or lower limits.
The encoder connects directly to the draw works shaft ensuring that any movement of drill line is sensed by the encoder.
The encoder is unaffected by the severe conditions associated with drill rig operations.
